Why an Early Access game is in tier A
Path of Exile 2 is unfinished. It is also already one of the deepest action RPGs on Steam.
We normally hesitate to rank games that are still in Early Access. Path of Exile 2 is the exception because what is already there is more complete than most finished action RPGs.
Two caveats matter. The $29.99 on Steam is an Early Access supporter pack; the developer has said the full release will be free to play. And balance and performance still change between patches, so builds you plan today may not survive the next update. Both points are in the review, and its score will be revisited at full release.
